Terpilihnya Taufik Kiemas sebagai Ketua MPR periode 2009-2014 dinilai pengamat bukti telah melunaknya hati Megawati Sukarnoputri untuk berkoalisi dengan Partai Demokrat milik Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) pun diyakini akan menjadi pendukung pemerintah lima tahun mendatang. “Sinyalemen semakin positif kalau Megawati sudah melunak menerima koalisi PDIP-Demokrat,” kata peneliti PDIP dari Lembaga Surei Indonesia (LSI), Burhanudin Muhtadi dihubungi Republika, Ahad (4/10).
Kabar melunaknya Megawati untuk berkoalisi dengan Demokrat telah didengar Burhanudin sejak dua pekan silam. Alasannya, Taufik Kiemas berhasil meyakinkan Megawati bahwa berkoalisi dengan Demokrat akan menguntungakan PDIP untuk jangka panjang. Menurut Burhanudin, Taufik juga memberikan garansi menawarkan Puan Maharani agar bisa masuk dalam kabinet SBY.
Menurut Burhanudin, berkoalisinya PDIP dan Demokrat akan merusak hubungan Demokrat dengan partai yang sedari awal mendukung SBY. Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), kata Burhanudin, akan menjadi parta yang palng tersakiti atas bergabungnya PDIP. “Koalisi yang ideal dan permanen menjadi sulit untuk diwujudkan,” tambah Burhanudin.
