Persepsi itu apa sih? Persepsi adalah proses pemahaman ataupun pemberian makna atas suatu informasi terhadap stimulus. Stimulus didapat dari proses penginderaan terhadap objek, peristiwa, atau hubungan-hubungan antar gejala yang selanjutnya diproses oleh otak. Proses kognisi dimulai dari persepsi. sumber.
Persepsi, menurut Rakhmat Jalaludin adalah pengalaman tentang objek, peristiwa , atau hubungan – hubungan yang di peroleh dengan menyimpulkan informasi dan menafsirkan pesan. (1998: 51).
Cara pandang persepsi timbul karena adanya respon terhadap stimulus. Stimulus yang di terima seseorang sangat komplek, stimulus masuk ke dalam otak, kemudian di artikan, di tafsirkan serta di beri makna melalui proses yang rumit baru kemudian di hasilkan persepsi (Atkinson dan Hilgard, 1991 : 209).
Seringkali kita di hadapkan dengan berbagai hal dalam kehidupan. Mulai dari kehidupan keluarga, lingkungan kerja ataupun lingkungan dimana kita berada. Setiap berinteraksi dengan banyak orang akan timbul yang persepsi. Persepsi timbul di karenakan kita sering bertukar informasi atau berinteraksi baik secara verbal maupun non verbal.
Misalkan kita melihat orang di sebuah tempat orang itu terlihat rapi , bersih wajah yang nyaman untuk dilihat, saya bisa mempersepsikan bahwa orang itu cakep, keren, rapi dan dalam kehidupannya orang itu adalah baik. Lain lagi bila saya melihat orang terlihat awut – awutan, bertato, mata yang penuh tatapan kesadisan tentu yang timbul di persepsi saya bahwa orang itu adalah orang jahat ataupun orang yang perlu di jauhi karena hawanya saja sudah terlihat membuat rasa takut. Nah bagaimana kalau hal itu terjadi dengan diri saya, saya sudah mencoba menjalankan sesuatu hal yang saya anggap betul mengikuti rule atau peraturan yang ada, berusaha menegur orang yang memang selakyaknya di tegur.
Persepsi orang terhadap saya bahwa saya ini adalah orang yang sok tahu sok pinter dan lain – lain. Itu adalah khasanah personal jika di tarik ke ranah yang lebih luas di dalam pekerjaan, dalam perusahaan akan pengaruh terhadap money tentunya. Satu hal yang perlu di ambil kesimpulan di sini bahwa kita terkadang berbeda persepsi dengan apa yang ada di benak orang lain. Dan hal ini yang terkadang memicu adanya konflik. Bagaimana menyelesaikan atau setidaknya persepsi orang itu bisa di rubah atau di tempatkan pada persepsi yang sebenarnya?
Okay persepsi baik tentunya tidak jadi masalah justru nilai positif dan yang di harapkan tetapi kalau persepsi buruk , siapa di dunia ini yang mau di persepsikan buruk ? tentunya tidak ada. Di kala kita terkena persepsi yang kurang bagus atau tidak baik satu caranya untuk menyelesaikan yaitu dengan memberikan INFORMASI. Kenapa dengan informasi ? misal saya di persepsikan orang bahwa saya sok pinter atau ndeso ( lah mang ndeso ya). Ya orang tersebut di ajak bicara dengan pembicaraan yang berisi bahwa saya kelihatan seperti itu karena memang saya suka yang tidak berlebihan jangan karena logat trus dibilang ndeso padahal pimpinan di negeri ini adalah juga dari ndeso misalkan dengan persuasi itu berarti kita telah memberikan iformasi . Kemudian orang tersebut akan berfikir bahwa persepsi dia yang seperti itu mulai dengan sendirinya berubah atau setidaknya berkurang kecenderungan untuk negatif. Nah kekontinuitasan untuk memberikan informasi akan membuat persepsi semakin baik.
Jadi bisa di simpulkan bahwa persepi itu bisa di rubah dengan memberikan INFORMASI terhadap seseorang atau kelompok atau organisasi yang memiliki persepsi tersebut, dan pemberian informasi ini tidak perduli informasi itu bermuatan negatif atupun positif.
