Saat ini untuk menemukan blog perusahaan di indonesia sangatlah sulit atau masih sangat jarang. Kebanyakan blog di indonesia bersifat personal atau di kelola secara pribadi. Padahal dengan terus bertambahnya jumlah blogger akan memperuhi jalannya perusahaan dengan tulisan – tulisan mereka mengenai perusahaan ataupun produk dan jasa bahkan sampai ke hal yang positif nah akan berakibat buruk apabila tulisannya bersifat negatif. Maka sudah sewajarnya perusahaanpun melirik penggunaan blog sebagai media komunikasi internal ataupun external perusahaan. Ada beberapa jenis blog perusahaan antara lain sebagai berikut : internal, eksternal, dan blog chief executive officer (CEO).
Blog internal — biasanya diakses lewat Intranet — dibuat dan dibaca oleh karyawan. Ini semacam buletin internal konvensional. Blog ini umumnya dipakai sebagai media partisipasi karyawan dalam setiap isu. Bisa juga dimanfaatkan untuk ajang diskusi, menampung gagasan, dan mengumumkan sesuatu, misalnya jadwal rapat. Ini berguna terutama bila tempat karyawan bekerja terpisah-pisah di beberapa lokasi. Kelebihan blog dibanding mailing list internal adalah sifatnya yang interaktif.
Blog eksternal adalah media komunikasi antara karyawan atau juru bicara perusahaan dan publik, terutama konsumen mereka. Manajemen, misalnya, dapat memakainya untuk mengumumkan daftar produk-produk atau layanan baru — atau produk/layanan yang sudah habis masa edarnya. Ia juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat menanggapi serta mengklarifikasi kritik dan isu yang tengah berkembang soal produk layanan atau kebijakan sebuah perusahaan.
Di beberapa perusahaan, semua posting untuk blog eksternal harus diperiksa terlebih dulu oleh pejabat yang berwenang sebelum dipublikasikan. Di beberapa tempat lain, pengunjung bebas mengomentari setiap posting, sebagian lagi menerapkan aturan komentar yang dimoderasi. ( Sumber)
