Edensor salah satu novel dari andrea hirata tetralogi laskar pelangi, setelah aku baca cukup memberikan isnpirasi bagaimana seroang indonesia dari kampung yang mampu meraih cita – cita berawal dari mimpi. Ikal yang orang kampung akhirnya bisa menapakkan di universitas di perancis. Dalam rangka menlanjutkan study ke jenjang Strata Dua begitu perjuangan sulitnya dia tapi dari situ jadi inspirasi banget setelah aku baca. Gimana di gambarkan teman – teman kuliah dia yang dari berbagai negara sudah ilmiah banget di dalam berfikir tapi dia masih kesulitan dalam memahami bahasa .. gue banget deh kayaknya. Trus gimana dia bisa keliling eropa tanpa modal seperak pun hanya dengan perjuangan jadi traveler backpack. Menumbuhkan kembali mimpiku keliling eropa .. bisa mengunjungi kampung nazi… kapan ya….?

Edensor adalah novel ketiga karya Andrea Hirata yang diterbitkan oleh Bentang Pustaka pada bulan Agustus tahun 2007.

Berbeda dengan setting cerita Laskar Pelangi dan Sang Pemimpi, Edensor mengambil setting di luar negeri saat tokoh-tokoh utamanya, Ikal dan Arai mendapat beasiswa untuk sekolah di Inggris dan Perancis. Dalam novel Edensor, Andrea semakin mapan dengan ciri khasnya, mengelola kisah ironi menjadi parodi dan menertawakan kesedihan dengan berbalut pandangan-pandangan yang penuh intelegensia tentang culture shock ketika kedua tokoh utama tersebut yang berasal dari pedalaman Melayu di Pulau Belitong tiba-tiba berada di Paris. Seperti novel-novel Andrea sebelumnya Edensor memiliki kekuatan filosofis yang menebarkan semangat dan inspirasi bagi pembacanya.

Novel-novel Andrea ditulis dengan gaya realis dan mendapat perhatian masyarakat secara luas melalui kekuatan cerita, pesan-pesan moral, dan metafora yang memikat.
